Meet the Teachers
Principal Rick Zimmerman
Rick Zimmerman
My name is Rick Zimmerman. I serve as 6-8th grade teacher and principal at St. John St. James Lutheran School in Reedsville, Wisconsin. I have been teaching for 18 years and have served as principal for 14 years. I first started in the teaching ministry at Peridot Lutheran in Peridot, Arizona (located on the San Carlos Apache Reservation). I then served at Trinity Lutheran in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Before I arrived at St. John – St. James I served at St. Paul’s in Wonewoc, WI.
I grew up as a son of a pastor. My father served at a few different congregations, but most of my life was spent growing up in Kawkawlin, MI. Most of my grade school years were spent at St. Bartholomew Lutheran School in Kawkawlin. I attended Michigan Lutheran Seminary for high school. After high school, I attended Northwestern college to become a pastor. I changed tracks and eventually graduated from Martin Luther College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 2002.
Sarah and I have been married since 2006. Our four children, Erick, Ryan, Kayla, and Katy, all attend St. John – St. James Lutheran School.
If you do not see me at school, you may find me out fishing with my family. I do enjoy many different sports from grade school to pro. Every school year I am honored to work with parents to help them raise their children up in God’s word.
