My name is Phil Stuebs. I serve as the athletic director and 3-5th grade teacher at St. John St. James Lutheran School in Reedsville Wisconsin. I have been teaching for 17 years. I began my teaching ministry at First Lutheran School in Lacrosse, Wisconsin.
Most of my childhood was spent growing up in Platteville, Wisconsin. I attended the public grade school there before attending high school at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin. After four years of preparing to be a pastor I graduated and went on to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. During my first year I decided the pastoral ministry did not fit my gifts and decided to try the teaching ministry. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 2004.
I have been married to my lovely wife Abby for 17 years and we have five sweet children; Gabriel, Ava, Julian, Amelia, and Bernice who attend St. John St. James Lutheran school and Manitowoc Lutheran Highschool. My wife is an Army Reserve Veteran who served our country in Afghanistan from 2003-2004, and then returned to the United States to finish her time of duty at Fort McCoy, in Tomah, Wisconsin. She is a wonderful homemaker and teacher for our family.
I enjoy spending quality family time together, camping, “hoteling”, fishing, swimming, relaxing at a bonfire, and just out enjoying God’s creation. I enjoy time in my woodworking shop, vegetable gardening, and fixing things. I have recently picked up playing the guitar and leading worship services with our new music group “Messengers”.
