Early Childhood Teacher

Hi! My name is Sarah Zimmerman and I teach 3K/4K at St. John-St. James. I also spend time helping exceptional learners in the afternoons. This is my third year back at teaching after taking time off to be home with our children. I enjoy being back in the classroom. Each child is a dearly loved lamb of God with a unique set of talents and gifts. It is so fun to get to know each one and watch them learn and grow. What a great privilege to be able to share God’s words with them and spend time with them every day!

Most of my childhood was spent in Arizona, but my family moved to Texas when I was a senior Most of my childhood was spent in Arizona, but my family moved to Texas when I was a senior in high school. I attended Bethany Lutheran College for two years and then I attended the University of North Texas for a semester before I decided that I wanted to be a teacher in one of our Lutheran schools.  I spent three years at Martin Luther College and graduated with a degree in elementary education.  My first call was to Redeemer Lutheran School in Tucson, Arizona.  While teaching there, I met my husband Rick.  We have been married fourteen years and have four children.  We have been blessed to call many different places home, from Arizona to South Dakota to Wisconsin.  I am happy to be here and pray that God can use me to serve the people at St. John-St. James in the best way possible.

My favorite things are spending time with family and friends, traveling, and being outside as much as possible. My greatest joy and comfort in life is that I have a Savior who loves me and has promised me heaven!
